FO Friday

4th day of no school.  I know a lot of you people living up North will think this is so boring, but it's not normal for Texas.  Not even North Texas.  We just don't get snowy weather for more than one day at a time.

Last night on the news they were saying our temperatures were lower than what the people of Alaska were dealing with.  We've had ice on the ground since Tuesday morning.  It just won't melt because we haven't gotten above 20F.  The wind chills have been brutal, but there is barely any wind this morning

Then around midnight it started snowing.  It's let up a little bit, but there's a huge storm moving in from the West and may dump more on us.  I think we may have around 7 inches right now.

This is karma on Jerry Jones and his relentless drive to have the Super Bowl held in Texas.  Thanks Jer!  All the Northerners are very upset that we don't know how to deal with this kind of weather.  We had to get snowploughs out of Amarillo and Atlanta!  WE ONLY HAVE THIS KIND OF WEATHER WHEN WE PLAN ON HAVING SOMETHING BIG!  Give us a break.  It'll be back in the 70s in a week.

On to the finished object.  I'll have to model it... someday.  I've also made a cowl to wear with it, but I haven't been able to get out and buy the buttons I need for the cowl.  Maybe tomorrow, or Sunday, or next Thursday.

I started a Aran Fisherman Sweater last night.  This is something I've wanted to do since I first learned to knit.  The cables are supposed to denote your name or clan.  Well, I just can't find anything that denotes the Cruzan clan.  Maybe a bottle of rum or a skull and crossbones.  A palm tree!  Why not.  I'll see what I can work into the pattern.
I love looking up into the trees at the snow on the leaves and branches.  And then you get smacked in the eye with a clump of snow.

Ya'll stay warm.

I'd go with the cabled bottle of rum :)
Wow - that's quite a bit of snow there... We would have no idea how to deal with that here in SoCal. Enjoy the knitting time!

The bottle would look good but... how do I explain that when I wear the sweater to school. If this one works out, I'll see about working that idea up for Jolea.

The sun is out today and we're hoping for a melt down, but it's still only 26F here.

The sweater is fabulous!! Love the color.

You guys have really be hit hard there. We haven't had nearly the time that you have. Our schools let out at 9 a.m. on Friday. The roads were much better later in the afternoon than they were at 9. I don't envy you with early weather releases. Those are the worse!

Stay warm, my friend!

Thanks... I tend to lean toward the purples. This one is a bit big in the boob region, I may have to take it up. Designing is a lot harder that it looks, especially when you can't really fit it to you until it's finished. It ended up in the mid 40s yesterday and a whole lot of it melted, thank goodness. But we're supposed to get more on Wednesday, not as bad though.
