Now it's my turn. There are some rules to this, as in all those bloggy things. There is a problem however, I like to change the rules, so this could be hard for me. The rules are as follows:
1. Thank the person who gave this to you.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link the person who nominated you.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that no one would really know.
5. Nominate seven 'Kreativ Bloggers'.
6. Post links to the seven blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know you nominated them.
Thank you Cheryl... if you are a knitter, you will love Cheryl's blog over at Acorn to Oak My last project idea came from her, she's VERY creative.
I'm supposed to name 7 things about myself that no one would really know. HA, that's crazy because I'm an open book! As my dad said once "You're from West Texas... you are as open as the land you were raised on." I have no secrets, so it may take me a bit to think of something you don't already know about me.
Hmmm, did you know I was once a barrelracer and tried to break race horses for the track?
Ummm, how about??? I used to race go-karts on a oval dirt track... no, not those kind at the amusement park... the kind that go full out at 60-70 mph. I'm a speed demon!
Dang!!! This is hard.... spelling errors drive me nuts and the spelling on the award is going to make me a little anxious. I'm just going to keep telling myself it's a foreign award where they spell the word differently from the way we do here in the States.
I love to people watch. I love to study people and their egos. I find it fascinating that a lot of people who claim they are one way are actually the complete opposite of what they think they are. I can't shop at Wal-Mart because I'm too busy watching the people.
I love the desert, especially in the evening. The gazillions of colors it can display in a matter of hours is just amazing. I miss that about West Texas.
So there you have my 7 things. Are you surprised? You think I only listed 6 didn't you... you counted them. The first one was that you didn't know I have no secrets, just ask... I'll tell you about me or what I think about something. Not that I'll tell your secrets about you that you have shared with me. I'm very trustworthy.
Now for 5 through 7... this is where it gets really hard. I don't want any of you thinking you aren't my favorites just because I didn't put you in this list of 7, because if you are listed in my blog roll you are one of my favorites and I keep up with you. I'm not one of those people who list 12 dozen blogs because I just want to look busy... I am busy and I can only keep up with so much. If a blog doesn't post on a regular basis, I'll drop it off and move on
Here is my list in no particular order, and the reasons I like them and the links to them:
Jayne over at The Barefoot Kitchen Witch she's a two-fer with her cooking and hilarious and moving stories about her children and life in Rhode Island. And her gardening blog with it's wonderful photos, The Barefoot Kitchen Witch in the Garden. I hope to meet her this summer if I visit Jolea in New England.
Then there's Lyvvie at Lyvvie's Limelight and Obento Baby. Lyvvie was living in Scotland with her family but is now in Melbourne, Aust. You can read all about her adapting to a new country, new way of life down under and the trials of raising two young girls.
Heather writes a good blog post over at 30 and starting over. She's still so young, but she's getting there. Sometimes I think she's my Mini Me. We're alike in several ways.
I like to read about Travis and Maggie over at Me Voy and how they are refurbishing not one but TWO boats... at the same time. I love the thought of doing that, I guess I should have listed the fact that I like to refurbish too! I like to take something yuck and make it all clean and beautiful and give it a new life. That's why I admire everything they are doing, plus they live on one of the boats while they are working on it. Sounds like a very rewarding life.
Which brings me to something else I find fascinating... Living in a really tiny space. Like these two blogs, Tiny House Blog and This Tiny House Do you feel like your stuff is owning you? Sometimes I do.
Of course I like Debi's blog Debi Cates Photo a Day Her photos will show you West Texas and all it's glory. She lives just a couple of miles west of where I live my childhood. She's an awesome photographer and I hope to meet her one day
Now for the last one.... OH this is too hard!!!! I warned you about changing the rules.... Maria got me started, Duder and Brian are awesome writers that give me inspiration to write better. The knitters who are designers/writers with some of the funniest stories like over at Knit and Tonic, Turtle Girl, Knit Witch and The Sailing Knitter. They keep me going in the knitting department. The travelers who let me live vicariously through them, and those living in other countries like Bliss down in Mexico and Heather and Jim on Meerkat who wish they were still in Mexico and Sigga in the frozen North of Iceland. These people help me to remember to live life to the fullest. And mostly to our our little 'Sassy' living her life to the fullest.... what every parent wants their child to have the opportunity to do, she really makes us proud.
So if you all want to give yourself a copy of the little award up there to post in your blog, go ahead.... blow your hair back! You deserve it.
