Twas the night before, the night before, the night before Christimas...
when all through the house was the crash of broken glass and a flash of white
That cat had been curious, but held out until night,
That tiny 3 foot tree didn't seem right
but it was there, on the table so she thought she just might.
Though only set up the day before,
and adorned quiet sparingly with ornaments, three maybe four.
Cycle Santa for Jeff and Starbucks cups, are no more.
As I stood there cussing and went for the broom,
That little Sh!# came back in the room!
I cleaned up the mess, the tiny shards of glass,
She was quiet lucky that I didn't kick her @$$.
All was well the next morning, we were still friends.
I put up this year's ornaments just to make amends.
After shopping and errands, I'm home from the store,
only to have that blasted cat try climbing some more.
This time I'm heart broken, tears filled my eyes,
the kids didn't even see these ornaments, they were a surprise.
A spritz with the water bottle, a chase with that tree,
Only to have her look at me with a look of
"Who ME?"
"Not me, I was doing my nails..."
".... or curled up with my tail!"
"I was guarding your knitting can't you see? Why would I want to go climbing a tree?"
Whatever the reason, Christmas (decor) is over and done.
Next year we'll use the BIG tree, the 8foot one!
