THIS IS WHAT I DO. I KNIT, I COOK, I SEW, I MAKE THINGS, AND I TRAVEL, AS OFTEN AS I CAN.

WiP Wednesday and yesterday continues.

The work in progress is this sweater that I've literally been working on for over a year.  I just couldn't get the pattern right, but once I finally figured out what I wanted and how to make it happen, it took off.

This picture really doesn't do it justice.  I'll have to model it so you can really see what it looks like.

With us out for another snow day I may even finish it today.

Can you see what's written on the tag of this Reynolds Downtown yarn?  $4.95.  That's $4.95 per ball for this wool boulcle yarn.  This is some of the inheritance yarn from Aunt Shorty.  Yes it's purple, I lean toward purple, and green and turquoise.
I'm also working on these socks, one down and one in progress.  Yeah, purple and green.  These are a wool blend, Inca Hand Painted.  One skein $8.95 on sale at Tuesday Morning.  See the difference in price.  It pays to have an Aunt who knits.

And now for the weather and traffic....

It's crappy to partly s#i&&y out there today.  Really worse than it was yesterday.  Those folks that stayed home yesterday are desperate to go to work today so they have hit the highways with a vengeance.  And to top that off the state is requiring the electric companies to have rolling black outs.  Supposedly 15 mins. per black out per area.  But I think they are lasting a lot longer, some up to 2 hours.  Of course the news stations are all over this and people are calling in to complain about how long they are without power.  If you don't have power, how are you watching TV?  Ok, you're watching on your laptop....  I had to turn it off when one lady said "we can't leave our house to go somewhere else that has power because we can't get our car out of the garage, the garage door won't go up.   OMG, LADY!  What does she think that dangling red cord is?

OHMMMMMMMM.   The forecast says we won't see temperatures above freezing until Friday.  I may have to walk to Braum's for milk.

Jeff drove off to attend his class again this morning (it was a class yesterday, not a job), a $3000 a day class.  Hope he made it okay, the power outages were effecting traffic lights and train crossings.   You see why I dislike Winter so?  This sort of thing never happens in the summer.

Gotta go poke the fire, I think I put it out when I threw those last logs on it.  I never have this problem in June.
