Meeting the Oncologist

I think Hubby is beginning to get used to me going with him. He was afraid I'd ask all these stupid questions. But so far anything that I had been wondering about has been covered so no need for questions. I think also likes me going because I have the power to buy food!

The Oncologist told us the results of the PET scan showed that the Lymphoma was only in the sinuses, tonsils, adenoids and neck Lymph nodes. Nothing below the collar bones. This means he as Stage 2A Lymphoma. We still don't have results from the bone marrow scan, but he wasn't real concerned with that. The Dr. was rather concerned that Southwest Medical School had not called us. The Dr. wanted one of their Pathologist to look at the biopsy of the Tuma. He gave them a little call to get them rolling. Seems Hubby is a medical mystery. So we will return on Friday to get SW Med results and possibly have the first treatment of Chemo. If we don't hear from SW, then he may not have the chemo until the next Friday. So we wait. But the Oncologist confirmed what the Radiologist had said... 6 months and he'll be well!

Yesterday Hubby and I discussed my thoughts on his Acupuncture treatments he had last year. April of 07 he started acupuncture treatments for his severe headaches. The treatments lasted for about 4 months. By the fourth month Dr. Julie was placing over 200 needles in his body and giving him Chinese Herb tablets and teas to drink daily. Acupuncture opens the body's channels and allows the body's chi to flow. The treatments were a great help to Hubby. But unlike regular medical treatment, the insurance didn't cover the cost until AFTER the treatment was over... no co-pay and no reimbursement during treatment. And then they only covered a minimal amount. My thoughts on his acupuncture last year and all this that is going on this year is this: I think the TUMA was there. Dr. Julie's treatment caused it to shrink and break loose. The flow of chi caused the toxins to collect in the lymph nodes like they are supposed to so the body can fight them off. But when Hubby stopped and the chi slowly stopped flowing again, the TUMA started growing again. He was lucky enough to catch it before it started growing feelers and attached to something. Would you believe Hubby agreed with me!!!! He said he had thought of the same thing. He even considered forgoing the modern medical treatment and going to Dr. Julie, but since we have awesome insurance for the time being.... his company is after all, leaving the country in a year, he opted for the traditional route. He will see Dr. Julie after his final radiation for some cleansing acupuncture, he's already talked to her about it.

He also has a new Guitar Buddy that was a Oncologist and now only treats people through food and vitamin therapy. Talk about people coming into your lives when God wants them to.... This guy came to Hubby by way of a former Mandolin instructor. He was looking for someone to talk to about building guitars. He called during the week I was out of town and talked to Hubby. They got to talking about the Tuma and he asked if he could come to the house. Hubby said he came right over and stayed until almost 3AM! They played all the mandolins and guitars in the house (that would take a good 3 to 4 hours) and he told Hubby that he would give him any help he needed to get through the treatments -- FREE! As he left he said he'd just had a weird feeling when he talked to Hubby on the phone... there was a connection there and it was more than guitars. Like he was supposed to help Hubby, not so much Hubby help him.... Narny, narny, narny narny!

It's just so amazing how many blessings keep coming our way~
