Aww, baby bunnies that Dawn keeps under her desk at school. She found them abandoned on the playground. She bottle feeds them through out the day.
Hey look it's the President! He just flew over our school one day and Dawn snapped a picture of him.
Last Saturday I was driving down Park Ave. in Plano and took this picture of one of the 'Homesteads'
Goofy cat, there was a fly on the chair so she sat on the little shelf that we set our coffee cup on.
Now she's going to try to catch it.
She's so graceful. And elegant.
The big loom.
Gotta go whip up some Chicken Fried Steak.

A floor loom! Wow! You're going to have a lot of fun with that. Let me know if you want weaving book recommendations.
Trudi,I need all the help I can get. Books, pointers, a weaving teacher. I'm sort of scared.
That's lovely, Judith! CanNOT wait to see what comes off that loom! You need a book: Deborah Chandler's "Learning to Weave." Done and dusted.
Cindy, I'll try to get that book today. The loom came with 15-20 of those huge spools of warping yarn, a bunch of hand spun yard and some accessories for the loom plus a matching stool. Jody said he looked the stool up on line and they sell for $300! I think we got a bargain.
Btw ladies, see the reed... see how rust it looks? It really is that rusty. What could we clean it with. It came with an extra, larger spaces in it - less bars - fewer per inch. However you describe that, I hope this one isn't toast.
Holy crap that thing is huge! So now how many projects do you have going on at the moment? I have three... luckily no looms will fit on the boat.
Heather, I have a chemo cap going for my SIL, the watermelon sweater for me, the shawl on the Tri-loom and something else I can't remember. Oh yeah, a dish rag, and I started some cup koozies for Jolea tonight. I'm starting to feel a little like an over stretched rubber band. Hope I don't snap.
Cat-ching up...love your cat, omg, love it, makes my heart melt, and love that pic of the President's plane, lol, trust you, lol.
Love love love it all, love my friends in Texas, and yes, I have your yukata, I am just waiting to see if I will send it from the US or from here.
222, you are so sweet, don't mail anything from the orient if you can get away with it.
Nice loom. How wide is it? Did you just get it? How fun! :-) I like the colors in the yarn you're using on the triangle loom. Pretty!
Cindy, I got the floor loom a couple of weekends ago, it's probably 5' wide over all, I think the weaving area is like 3.5' wide. 4/4. I wish you lived closer so that you could give me lessons.
They had big looms like that when I lived in Mexico in the 90's and them made wonderful place mats and table runners. I had some for quite some time but then they went away....with one of my many moves probably. That is really a cool looking dude!
Placemats are some of the things that I will try first Suzie. I'm trying to get some things finished first, because I'm generally an addict the minute I start something new.
The book Cindy recommended is on top of my list. It's set up like lessons, breaks things down into stages and is very clear and easy to understand.
The rusty reed is a worry. You don't want the yarn to snag on it as you beat, or it'll tear your warp threads apart. If the rust has made the surface abrasive, you'll have to replace the reed. And the heddles, too, if they're rusty. The reed will be expensive to replace, but it's worth it IMHO.
Trudi, Thanks for the advice. Jody worked on the spare reed and got it cleaned up with some super fine sandpaper and a little gun oil we'll surely ware the oil off just practicing in the beginning. He feels like he can get the rust on this reed, he's looked at it pretty closely and I have confidence that he can, he can repair anything.
I order the book that Cindy suggested and also the Weavers Companion. I LOVE the Knitter's Companion and the Weaver's looks like it will be just as helpful. Gosh I wish you live closer! Cindy is still in Hawaii and won't be home for a week or so.
