We're back.

Made a mad dash down to New Braunfels Friday morning instead of going to work.

Jody's dad hasn't been feeling well and had some tests run and eventually a biopsy done on his kidneys.  Age and blood pressure medicine plays havoc on kidneys so it seems.  He will more than likely have to begin dialysis in the coming months.  This is not a pleasant thought for a VERY active 75 yr old man. But he's not felt like being very active lately and probably felt a lot older than 75.  I hope he takes this all with a positive attitude, it could be much worse.

It's so dry out there... only the golf course was green.  For them rain not only greens everything up, it also brings flash flooding.  So they have to be careful what they wish for.

There were far fewer Bluebonnets to be found around NB.  We've got more up here, another sign they are in drought situations.  I think the whole state will be rationing water again this summer.

It was a good visit, we hadn't been in over a year except for me running down to pick up a recliner in April '10.  Jody's younger brother Danny came in from Houston Friday evening.  He's always fun to visit with.  He's the most laid back of the bunch.  We just sat around watching the Masters Jane and I booing Tiger.

The two of us also went over to Gruene to visit my favorite shops and pick up my hand cream that I get once a year.  It's the only hand cream I will used because it doesn't leave a greasy stain on my yarn.  I can't find it up her in stores anymore so I have to get it when I go to their house.  We're probably the only people in the world that can go to Gruene, Texas and and be back home in an hour.  We peruse sale racks only, we pick what we need, we scope out the things we will keep an eye on for a sale and we're outta there.  That place is always jam-packed with people.  It's like Mecca or something.

Good trip, we shouldn't wait so long in between them, we probably won't from here on out.

I dreamed about Jolea last night she was living with carnival people, I think I'll plan a trip to see her.  Hope she's not living a Mother's nightmare.... the Tilt-a-whirl operator.

A short trip to New Braunsfels or Gruene is pretty impressive. I leave kicking and screaming. Great place! What is the story behind the "stained glass tree" picture? So much neat art there.

Your garden and deck are looking lovely. The flower in the header is pretty, too.

The stained glass tree is a sun catcher that Jolea and I bought for Jane a couple of summers ago. It's about 3 foot long and it's really pretty. I just love the way the sun shine through it.

Thanks M, really my deck looks like shat, we need to paint it, maybe we will after we finish residing the house and staining it. The herb garden looks pretty good.
