Work In Progress

Or as we call it in the knitting circles.... WIP.  This is the back of a shell I'm making for someone SUPER special.  It's Egyptian Cotton and the picture doesn't do it justice in how bright yellow it it.  She will look great in it.  I just hope I can get it finished in the next week to week and a half.  Now that I've stated that, I will probably be jinxed. The yarn is from Aunt Shorty's Stash in knitting circles that would be ASS.  Thank goodness for ASS.  I've got yarn to last for years to come because of  my ASS.  You might say I've got it coming out my.... never mind

I will be able to get a lot done tomorrow and Tuesday because I'M NOT GOING TO WORK!!!!!  I swore off working on my Birthday long time ago, and I have some comp time to use.  I love comp time.  It builds up 15 minutes at a time and all of a sudden you have a afternoon or maybe even a day off.  But it's a use it or loose it situation if I have more than 12 hours.  They will pay us for 12 hours but no more.  I have about 30 hours to use before my last day of school on June 17th.  But after June 9th I won't be able to use any because I'll be the only one left at school.  There will be no one to take my place if I'm not there.

I think next year I'll start taking all my accumulated Personal Days... I think I have about 50 of those.  If I were to leave the district only a few State Days would go with me.  If I were to leave the Education System all together I'd loose them all.  So.... I'll just start taking them when I can.  That doesn't include the Sick Days, I have almost the same amount of them.... not quite, because when someone needs some because they have run out and are on a long term absence (hospitalization, etc.) I always give them some of mine.

Besides knitting for the next two days, I'm going to do a little yard work.  My allergy season is finally over and I can get out in the yard, that is if it's not storming.  Jody's been hard at it again this weekend with his WIP.  The stones will be delivered tomorrow.

Happy Birthday toooo youuuu...
y feliz cumpleanos too...

The Capt found an article that says if you eat the local honey, you'll have less trouble with allergies. Just thought I'd pass that along.

You have such a lovely back yard. Glad you've got the weather to enjoy it now. Seems like just yesterday it was blanketed in snow (at least in the picture).

@Me - thx, this is the 2nd sweater I've done in this stitch, it's a fun one.

@Bliss - Gracias, we haven't even started on the backyard yet, this is the Fronchard! I've been doing the honey thing all my life. I do the neti pot too. Someday when I'm allowed to live my life with out a clock or calendar I'll still know it's February because I'll have an upper-respiratory infection. I just get them every year, so I have to wait out the tree pollens.

It's been pretty nice, but out of habit I forgot about telling Jody we'd go out to dinner and I went right in and made chicken fried steak, pan fried potatoes and blackeyed peas.... he thought it was great. He'd come in and started playing with all the rocks they delivered this morning. Are we stuck in a rut or what?

Thank Jayne, I'm going to box up and mail some stuff for your kids. Hope you don't mind. Maybe another antique of my Mom's for you too. I can't think of anything your hubby would want, I'm sure he has just as many packets of guitar strings, picks, winders and capos as Jody does.
