Friday I ran an errand around 10am and I could smell the smoke. One whole town in far North Texas burned up... small town with only an volunteer fire department. So sad....
There is a slight breeze from the east this morning so everything is fresh and lovely out there right now. The day is still young.... and the wind is supposed to turn out of the west later in the day.
Look at my new coffee cup a co-worker presented me with Thursday! She and her

I remember being a child and going to the rodeo and my fingers feeling like they were going to freeze off and wishing I was old enough to drink coffee so I could hold a hot Cup-a-joe and have warm hands. Later on when we were old enough to handle a magma-like cup of hot chocolate we would just buy it for the heat. The cocoa at the rodeo was disgusting, but it was hot enough to almost burn through the Styrofoam cups they served it in.

My Peeps are so good to me at the school... coffee cups, chocolate (dark) from my special chocolate girl who keeps me in HIGH quality chocolate (I'll miss you next year, but staying home with the toddler is something you'll never regret.) I got this little gift yesterday, didn't even need to put my Easter basket out.

It was just chock-full of goodness!
I have a challenge for you guys who have blogs.... I want to see your back yard. I know some of you may not have a backyard or a deck. That's OK, I want to see what you see out your backdoor or your front door, anywhere you would si

Watch for the change... I'm updating the header.

BTW---- Jody is seeing some improvement in the dry mouth problem. The tea from Dr. Julie seems to be working. He has picked up enough for 2 more weeks. He is disappointed, to say the least, that he isn't feeling better. Some days he feels worse than when he was going through the Chemo. And to think back that when he was diagnosed, he didn't even feel bad.
This is hard for a guy who likes to go to work. He's been working since he was 12 or 13 years old and had planned to work until the day he died. Sitting around the house has really got him down. He is still fighting bouts of exhaustion. They seem to come on in waves. And just like Heather had told me, he gets chilled. When I'm having a melt down (this could just be me) he's huddled under a couple of blankets.
He's supposed to return to the Oncologist on the 23rd for his 3 month out check-up. We'll see how this turns out, he's still pretty hacked off at them. I hope I don't get a call from the Police saying he throttled a nurse who had an attitude. Jody is known for not putting up with attitudes.
I hope he feels like going to Garland tonight, it's the only time I see a little twinkle of the regular Jody. It does him good to get out, but it sure does zap him. I better get to baking... last weekend Mark (the best mandolin and guitar player you may ever see standing on a street corner) said to me "You remember when you brought those brownies that time? They were really good."
Hope you all have a blessed Easter Weekend.

Happy Easter to you! And love your cup!
It doesn't hold much, but it's cool, and I need the exercise going back and forth getting coffee.
I'll have to take you up on your challenge. I will let you know.
Those fires were horrible. My son was at a baseball practice that afternoon. I ran out there with his inhaler. Probably should have not even let him go.
Hope you got Jody out this weekend.
I thought of you Me-OL.. ya'll were much closer to the fires than we are. I was hacking until the rains started Saturday night. And that was a doozie of a storm. On our way back from Garland the lightening was awesome.
Hey Jomamma.. my backyard is not fit for viewing as yet.. give me time once the snow has gone. Hope you had a great Easter.. mine as you know was great started early in London and ended with a weekend at my brothers... I have now broken a record according to my sister in law - it is the longest I have stayed with them for 10 years... I am such a bad sister and sister in law - have used them as a hotel for almost 20 years.. not good... Still time for change I guess. Hope that Jody starts to recover quickly and is able to swallow and enjoy life and all its goodies to the fullest (great english.. not).. take care
Hope you had a good Easter. Fingers crossed for Jody getting better soon.
Love the mug! And reading about your chocolate reminds me that I have a bar of 74% dark stuff in the cupboard. Have to go. Mmmmmm :-)
Thanks OE, we're all ready for him to start feeling better especially him. Oh nothing is better with 74% than red wine. Good stuff.
