Jody walked around the block yesterday! That's strange because Jody never walks for exercise reasons. When he's at work he probably walks 20 miles per day. He works at a very large manufacturing plant and he walks all over it several times daily, in steel toe boots! So when it comes to walking for exercise, Jody has already had his exercise for the day when he gets home.
I used to ask him to walk with me in the evenings. He went with me once and only once. You see, I walk fast... VERY fast. When I've been walking regularly or daily, I can walk a mile in about 12.5 minutes. The day that Jody walked with me, we walked a 4 block by 4 block square in our neighborhood and it took us about 45 minutes. It was painful for me to walk that slow! He kept giving me excuses like, "I'm wearing steel toe boots.... I'm tired.... if we go any faster my cigarette will blow out." Forget that.... I leave him at home in my dust now. He can just get his walk in at work.
But yesterday he walked around the block.... just for exercise sake! I think it actually made him feel better too. If everything works out to his plan, he will be going back to work in about 8 weeks, maybe sooner. He's been sitting/lying around for about 3 1/2 months... I think this is a good idea so the 'work walks' don't hurt him when he goes back. I'll have to keep an eye on him that he doesn't take my bike to work. But then again, he would need a basket on it.... I could use a basket, maybe the company would provide one!!! Nah, they're moving to China, they don't care if he has a basket. Besides, Jody is way to 'manly' to ride a pink bike. We could get him a Razor Scooter!
Maybe he'll take Jolea on his walk today.... that mountain she's about to venture off to is going to kick her butt. The altitude alone is going to be brutal for her. Why can't we become addicted to exercise as easily as we can become addicted to chocolate, or hamburgers, or Dr. Pepper?

Do you have any idea just how well you write?
If you could put a book's worth of daily stuff into a book, you would have a bestseller that all would want to read.
Do you not realise that you have a most observant eye and a great finger full of ink that the world needs.
Man - I miss you guys! I have now officially read ALL of your blogs and I am up-to-date! WOW - what a year. I am going to make sure I play extra hard with my kids this weekend after reading your words of wisdom :) I loved the picture of your transportation vs Jody's! I laughed out loud! I am going to read this so that I can stay in touch with you two! I am getting very hungry for some Turkey Day food, thanks to you! Not sure my food will look as nice as what Jolea cooks up, but I am still learning! Take care -
