The swallows are returning....

Jolea will be coming in tomorrow night around 7:30. Check her blog for all the details, not so long story short... the owner sold the boat and sent them all home. When Jolea told us last night, Jody first said it was the economy, everyone feels the crunch. I find it hard to believe people who are worth billions of dollars can feel an economic crunch. I think this boat was his toy to 'flip' like people who flip a house. He took a boat that he paid someone to improved drastically and sold it and made a huge profit on it. He probably sold it to someone who recently made a huge gain in the fall of some or company or bank. Good for him... crappy for Jolea and the rest of the crew. Everything happens for a reason.

But when we talked to Jolea tonight, she had a phone interview at 7pm her time. A boat on the east coast headed for Savannah. She likes Savannah. So maybe by the time I pick her up tomorrow night she'll have good news. I wonder if she ever checks her horoscope? Or has her karma adjusted, or her cards read. Feng shui!

Like sister, like brother... Jeff called today from the Netherlands. They were headed to Amsterdam and will try to get on a standby flight out Saturday, which would put them in here on Sunday. If they don't get on a flight it may be Wednesday before they get home. I think he's ready to come home. Can't wait to hear how much money he makes off the resale of the car they bought.

Now it's first one home gets the good guest room. I vaguely remember this happening at Jody's parents house when we moved back to Texas from Memphis. It was like a race to get to Mom and Dad's before the other siblings. We lost... both guest rooms were taken when we got there. The only problem with coming in second place here at our house is you'll have to move all the guitars and mandolins off the bed in room #2. But at least you don't have to sleep in room #1 with a strummer. Jody says that's our God given right... to make our kids uncomfortable. Payback for those pregnant months, the all night feedings (mine ate every 2 hours, like clockwork), and the sleepless nights waiting for them to come home at the wee hours of the morning.

It's all good... they can always come home. We're the Waltons.

Your husband's furniture looks like real furniture. I wish that I could make "real" things. Bravo!

You are making real things... after having to retrieve our Rubbermaid Adirondack chairs from the neighbors yard after every thunderstorm that came through, Jody made this stuff. It never blows away. The couch looking piece was a glider, but the weather after 10 years has done it in.

I should send you pictures of the headboard he made. It's not for beauty, but for function.
