Our outing Monday was uneventful... I don't shop. Jolea will, and she doesn't even need to have her own money! She'll use mine if I'm not careful. We still had fun.
We met up with my hairdresser of about 19 years at Watters Crossing. Not too many shops open yet, we'll just go back next year. This place will be so nice when it's finished, very up-town looking. We did have lunch at MiCocina, the food was so-so, the mojhitos were better. During lunch we decided to run down to Northpark Mall to see the canned food displays. Every year different groups enter a contest to construct a display made from canned and boxed foods. After the contest, the food is donated to the North Texas Food Bank. There were some really nice displays, the best was a 7ft. pair of rollerskates. The train engine was well done also.
We then milled around the mall a bit and ended up in Sephora, Jolea needed make-up. She won't be in the water all day with this new job, she will have to wear clothes other than a swimsuit, t-shirt and shorts (most likely a uniform) and keep her hair and make-up done. And her nails will have to be tidy also, toesies too. One of the sales girls 'did' Jolea's eyes with the most fantastic eyeshadow. All the colors were on a peel off sticker set that the sales clerk placed on Jolea's eye lids and gently rubbed with her finger. She then peeled the sticker off and the eyeshadow was on Jolea's eyelid. She then blended it a bit and sealed it with some powder. Voila! Jolea's eyes were totally done, highlighter, shadow, eyeliner.... perfect. Lucky me, we'd already made our purchases.... I didn't even bother checking the price on the eye make-up much less find out what the name of the product was.
One of the best stores we visited was Anthropologie. It's Urban Outfitters for adults. LOVE that store. It was a fun day of nothing to do and no where to be. This is what Jolea and I used to do last summer before she left for the Boaty life. We like to go browse the shops. Zipping around town with the top down on the Miata. It's fun!
Jody went in Monday for a blood test to make sure his white count was up for Friday's treatment. It was! So he has had a pretty good week and will have treatment #4 on Friday. His boss came over today and they went out to PW, the company Jeff works for... when he isn't touring Europe. Jody was very happy to see his boss. We're both VERY fortunate in that aspect.... we both love our jobs and think very highly of our bosses and enjoy working with them.
Jeff has been emailing Jolea with updates as to where he and Zach are. Jolea's blog has details of Jeff's on-going tour. So far they have been to Iceland (just a short lay-over on the flight), then to Sweden, then went by ferry to Estonia. Now they are heading back to Sweden to catch a boat to Great Brittan to meet up with another friend in London. Jody says food will be the one thing that brings them back home before the month is over. Without Taco Bell, Wendy's and Chicken Express, Jeff will starve! So as we were discussing what Jeff wasn't eating I asked Jolea if she had been getting all her favorite foods. She said so far she was... then Jody said he was hoping I'd make TURKEY AND DRESSING! So we will be having Thanksgiving tomorrow night. Our family is really big on Thanksgiving, it's the favorite holiday. It's a good idea, Jolea wasn't home last Thanksgiving and may not be home this year. Even better... it's what Jody is wanting and I'll feed him whatever he wants as long as he's hungry. Jolea will make a cheesecake tomorrow morning. I'm so glad she likes to cook. So many girls her age have no interest in cooking.
We were hoping for a nice weekend to finish off Jolea's last minute gathering of necessities and packing, but it doesn't look like we'll have it. Ike has his rapidly defined eye trained on Texas. Twice in what doesn't even seem like a week since Gustov... I guess it's really been about 10 days. We'll probably get rain out of this one, Gustov didn't give us anything.
I'm tired, going to bed. Talk to you (type AT you really...) this weekend.

That was a nice catch-up. You write so well, so clearly, you are a pleasure to read.
p.s Count me in for Thanksgiving!
Thank you, reading all those trashy paperback novels has paid off with my writing.
You are welcome for meals anytime... as long as you pardon the lack of formality, we tend to be pretty laid back.
Uh, you think I'm Miss Manners or sommit?
Hehehehehehheehehhe.
I'm easier going than my blog lets on.
;)
