Maybe just one hitch....

I can't say Hubby's treatment went off without a hitch yesterday. He learned that Southwest Medical diagnosed the TUMA is not a tumor... it's just severely swollen Lymphatic tissue in the sinus area. I think that's good news, no TUMA. They started his treatment yesterday and this is where the hitch comes in. He has to sit in a chair for nearly 5 hours. Hubby is like a small child when it comes to sitting or standing... it's next to impossible.

They don't understand, in a normal 5 hour period of time Hubby has gone to the bathroom, then out to the garage to sand on a piece of a mandolin or guitar, smoked a cig, listened to the radio and sung along with songs, played a mandolin (his mini practice sessions can last from 30 mins. to an hour), come into the house for an oreo, sat in the recliner and tuned a guitar, watched a video on how to play a song on You Tube, then played the guitar, checked the weather on TV radar, gone outside to smoke a cig and start the sprinkler on the lawn, come back in and gone into the garage to sand on a mandolin, played a mandolin again, turned on the strummer and piddled with it for a few minutes, come back in the house with the mandolin and started playing it, go out side to smoke and move sprinkler or turn off the water, come back in to play a guitar and check the weather on the Weather Channel..... hope you get the idea because this would only take about and hour and a half, and I still had time to burn, so for your sake I'll cut it short. Just read it again a couple of times... my family knows what I'm talking about. HE DID NOT ENJOY TREATMENT! And there were people there who wanted to talk! Stranger Danger! He doesn't talk to strangers.

He brought home some nice reading material on what to expect in the coming months and what to eat and not eat, he said from reading that (he had a little spare reading time today) he has a lot of oatmeal in his future. I would think that would be scary for a person who is a picky eater like him, to think that the few foods that you eat are on a list of 'don't eats' or that make you feel sick.

We'll just take it one day at a time, and appreciate all of you who are wishing him well VIA the mind waves. He's already had a people at work come to him with horror stories. Why do people do that? Ego? Does it make them feel better to make someone else feel scared or bad? So if you see him just say "How ya doin'? And leave it at that. If by chance he has fallen and hit his head and starts telling you just exactly how he's doing, then consider yourself in an elite group. Because this will NEVER happen. He doesn't divulge information, unlike his Erma Bombeck wanna be wife.

We'll put this Chemo business to the test tonight... I'm making Bar-B-Q Baby Back Ribs! Maybe with a side of oat-meal, bless his heart.
