THIS IS WHAT I DO. I KNIT, I COOK, I SEW, I MAKE THINGS, AND I TRAVEL, AS OFTEN AS I CAN.

I'm exhausted, I need a vacation.

We just experienced the toughest 3 weeks of the school year.  We had Meet the Teacher Night last Thursday.  Once that's over then everything sort of calms down.  We've gotten all the back to school Teacher In-service meetings out of the way and they've gotten their rooms back in order and used a butt load of laminate they even ran the rollers off the laminator.

Poor L (our Registrar), was inundated with new student enrollment.  We are starting this school year with close to 600 kids.  I know that doesn't sound like much, but we are a pretty small campus.  170 of them are under the age of 5.  I've been hustling to order supplies, hand out keys, gather info from new employees and try to make them feel welcome I hope I didn't forget someone and they are in the corner feeling rejected.

We also hosted Kid's Club all summer so our campus was pretty 'used' if you know what I mean and didn't get the summer deep cleaning that all the other schools did.  So I was left to get that organized and get a bunch of unwanted furniture hauled off at the last minute.

Tomorrow is the official first day of school, and I'm already brain dead.  I spend the first 30 minutes that I'm in bed every night making a list of the things I need to do the next day.  As if I don't already have those things listed on sticky notes all over my desk and in an X-up file in the drawer.  I'm having anxiety!  I never have anxiety over anything.  Time to start counting down the years to retirement.

I'm still knitting on the Fisherman's sweater, I knitted a shawl but turned around and frogged and rolled it back into balls.  I just wasn't into it.  I haven't put anything on the loom since I finished Heather's coasters.

Jolea will soon to be off to Sedona for a few weeks just to get out of KW in search of some sanity and a good nights sleep.  Jeff is planning another trip to Costa Rica.  He'll be riding the motorcycle back this time.  Try not to think about it, you'll have anxiety and won't be able to concentrate during the day or sleep at night.

So if you don't see a post from me in a month or so, don't worry.  I'm still here.  Unless I've had to go looking for Jeff in Central America.

With just a couple of days of preparation this is what the boss man had us pull off:

Have a good school year!  Those of you not in the school environment....  be happy.
