Happy New Year 2012

As I check the blogs that I regularly read this morning, I am finding that I do have some resolutions after all.  Most years I resolve to not make resolutions.

As I read Maja's blog post, I commented the following "My resolution for the year is make more lists to keep up with the things I need to mark off those lists."  I love lists and a really love marking things off those lists.

Then I read Sleeping Si Knits and she had a quote from An Affair To Remember and I decided that I should try to re-watch all the Cary Grant movies.  I know I can find some of them at the library to check out and I'll supplement what aren't there with the ones that are on Netflix when I can pry the iPad out of Jody's hands, and who can go into a library without picking up a book or two to read, read more watch TV less.

I may even learn something new this year.  We'll see.  I do have a huge weaving loom waiting in the sidelines to be set up and used.

I hope to de-clutter our home and at the same time de-clutter my mind and life.   Thus making this place even MORE relaxing to come home to.  The backyard was somewhat neglected with the drought last year, maybe it's time to re-plant in more drought tolerant plants.

As with most of the other blogs over there on the right, my buddies have the same wishes and hopes for us all -- happiness, success, love, freedom, and good health.

I wish the same for you too.... and of course I wish you peace and the hope that you don't get sucked in by Pintrest,  Lord help me!

Happy New Year and by the way... there is a cure for hangovers!  It's called the Mercy Cocktail.  Personally I think nothing beats the West Texas cure.... a half dozen spicy beef tamales!  YUM!

Sounds like lots of great ideas for the new year. I especially like the loom, de-cluttering, and relaxing. Best wishes for a wonderful 2012! :-)

happy new year to you! I have been thinking of resolutions but can´t think of any that I know I have a chance of keeping - I don't believe in making resolutions knowing that hey - thats not going to happen. Anywho, all the best to you and the family.

I could say "ditto" to your resolutions except for Pinterest. It's too late.

Happy New Year, my friend.
