THIS IS WHAT I DO. I KNIT, I COOK, I SEW, I MAKE THINGS, AND I TRAVEL, AS OFTEN AS I CAN.

That's the way it goes around here.

My winter vacation started at 3:15 Friday afternoon.  At which time I headed to the house to dump off two big bags of gifts and goodies and then straight to the nearest On The Border to have a margarita with the Sistas five of the sweetest women of color I know. The Sistas always invite me for happy hour, I don't always get to go, but they keep inviting.

Wouldn't you know my body decides it doesn't want to be on vacation.  For the past two mornings I have been wide awake at 4AM.  What's up with that?  I am supposed to be sleeping in till at least 6!

So I'm up making coffee and building the fire back up and letting the cat out and watching for the raccoon to come in.

I hope this isn't going to be one of those vacations.  You know, the kind where every three days, something goes haywire.  I am starting to dread getting in the attic to get the Christmas stuff down... hope I don't fall through into the living room.

Just last week, I'm eating lunch at my desk and I bite down... you know the story.  Yeah, my crown broke.  No, it didn't come off, it BROKE!  Well technically, the  crown was in perfect condition it was the tooth under it.  There wasn't much tooth for them to work with and I guess it just finally gave up and now I have a gaping gap in my right lower row of molars.  FUN!

So next Thursday I get to go to an Oral Surgeon to have what's left below the gum line cut out.  Then the fun part will start in January.  An implant!

All I want for Christmas is a tooth!  I don't know if I've met my deductible for this year and the insurance only covers 60% and up to $1500.   Don't you just hate insurance.  It's like reading Spanish, you kind of get it but just about the time you think you do, then you don't anymore.

Can we please go back to the days of trading services for eggs or hand sewing?
A Tomato Dish given to my either my Grandmother or her mother for doing some hand sewing for the town Doctor back in the early 1900's.

Oh no...sorry to hear about your tooth. Yeah...that dental insurance is...a pain! My daughter just had her wisdom teeth taken out and we had to pay almost $700 and we have insurance. Ugh! Good luck with your implant. I hope everything goes great! I hope your vacation improves greatly too. :-)

Thanks Cathy, I sure hope so. I'm going to use the tooth extraction to curb my appetite for the next few weeks.

Dental insurance can really be a pain when it comes to anything past a cleanin.

Tomato plate is lovely. You ought to take it to Antique Roadshow.

MeOL, I really need the Antiques Road Show to come to my house, I have a bunch of stuff that I would like to know if it's a treasure or just crap.
