Mmmmm, I love real mail.

I had received a parcel in the mail the other day.  I was so excited to see that it had come to me from Japan.  Maria had sent Jolea and I a couple of famous Japanese prints.

This one she sent to me, it's called The Harlot uh, is she trying to tell me something?

This one she sent to Jolea.  Now to get them framed and hung on the wall.  We are about to clear out the small bedroom/office.  We're doing away with the office part of the furniture.  Going back to a bedroom.  Maybe I'll have a world travel theme in that room.

Saturday I conjured up some espresso simple syrup.  I got the idea from Cheryl over at Acorn to Oak.  I also tried out her recipe for Espresso Martinis.  What other reason did I have for making espresso simple syrup?  I may be having one of those on a weekly basis.

It was so hot Saturday evening that I decided to stay home instead of going down to the Square with Jody.  I rented some movies, enjoyed a martini and observed the 'hood' going to hell.  We have a classic  'white trash' family living a couple of doors down.  Let's get drunk and throw chairs in the front yard.  Sometimes I wonder if it's worth all the yard work and home improvements that we do around here when some of the neighbors are hell-bent on trashing their house.

Yeah, I'll just be one of a handful that calls the cops every time your voice gets loud enough that I hear it in my front yard.  Your kind doesn't last long around here Mr. Tough Stuff.

Pretty prints. I especially like the fish one. We're switching our office into a bedroom/guest room too. We had a guest room before but it wasn't used much. So, we turned it into a craft studio. Now, we're getting guests. Our office is more a catch-all room than anything. So, maybe it will do better as a guest room. It'll be much prettier and fun to clean. lol I'm glad you liked the espresso martinis. Isn't that syrup yummy? I've started adding a bit to my iced lattes too. Mmmm :-D We've got a few neighbors like that too. Ugh! I just keep telling myself they probably won't live in this neighborhood forever. At least, I can hope. :-/

Yep, we just have to stand our ground. Within 36 hours of these people moving in at the end of May, 3 of our neighbors approached us to ask if we were putting our house on the market. One even asked if so where were we moving b/c they wanted to move next door. I told them NO, they will be moving. The problem is that, this family knows how to work the system. It just makes our job a little bit harder.

Espresso martinis rock!

We have a psycho, passive-aggressive, mysoginistic, ADHD, alcoholic neighbour next door. (And our houses are semi attached with a shared driveway). The stories I could tell about that guy, but Jason is paranoid that he could one day read something I wrote about him on the net and proceed to make our lives hell. He's big on appearances though, no trashing of his house (only my friends cars and stuff).

Maja, that describes this guy to a T! Oh, it's Wednesday! I can have a Espresso Martini tonite!

There must be some sort of karmic movement in the atmosphere, I just changed my spare room into an office/study, still have a fold out bed thingy in there so it can still be used as a guest room. Moving the foldup bed thingy into the study freed up space in the lounge, suddenly I have heaps of room everywhere. Crappy neighbours are the worst... am very very happy in my little alley, two single mums, me and ma at the end... and now Olga and Ross at the other... very good feng schwei.. chuy.. whatever

Sigg, I grew up within 4 blocks walking distance to my cousin. There is something to be said about living amongst family. It sure makes going up against the crappy neighbors easier. Strength in numbers.

Sorry Sigga, I was watching Deadliest Catch and I guess I just had Sigg on my brain.
