We had a pretty good rain yesterday evening, after Jody had watered everything of course. We may have had rain though the night, I have no idea as I was in comatose state, I'm a VERY sound sleeper when I want to be.
Any way.... it was too wet to go out on the deck when I got up at (wait for it....) 4:30!!!
The do-hickey on the kitchen wall said it was only 77 out there. If it's getting down into the 70's at night then why aren't my tomatoes making?
That's not the reason for this post. This post is for the purpose of winning a drawing. Maybe I'll win some seeds to plant next year. I'll keep some of the seeds I can plant in my flowerbeds and herb pots and share the rest with Nita and Di.
I'm supposed to post pictures of my 'garden' and a link to Jayne's post where she is having the give-away. If you don't want to wait on the link, it's over there in The Barefoot Kitchen Witch - In the Garden.
This is how I grow my herbs for cooking.
I have basil and fennel
I have some Italian parsley and more
So that's my incentive to win some seeds, now you have a chance to win seeds if you are into gardening. Just go to this site and click on today's post. Hurry it's only good though this weekend.
Now I have to take care of the incentive to wash the patio doors. Looks like rain, maybe I'll wait.

I need to do something about my garden and try and grow herbs, not sure how this will work given our not so reliable summers, but I think that this year I might have had a chance. You have inspired me... look out 2011, self sufficiency in the herb department!
Awesome garden - the pots are fabulous! We grow most of our herbs in pots, with the exception of basil, cilantro, dill and fennel (yeah, we've got both). Good luck in the giveaway! I won't be picking the winner myself - I'll assign that to one of the other inhabitants of the house. Not sure who yet....
@Sigga, if gardening in Iceland is anything like gardening in Alaska you'll do fine. Seems plants love that volcanic soil and the long days must do them some good too.
@Jayne, I made the mistake of letting the chives go to seed once and now we have a chive bed and chives under the deck. I think chives can grow under concrete too. I'm sure I'll survive if I don't win the drawing.
You're a regular Martha Stewart! Good luck on winning some seeds!
