I did make it to work last Friday. I got there at 6:30 and went downhill really fast. My allergies were in full swing
I was back home in bed by 8:30 and I didn't really get out of the bed
By Monday I was much better, but still really weak. I won't be going on any hunger strikes. I can get past the stomach growling part of it, once it shrinks down a size or two, it has a very tiny voice that you can barely hear. It's the kidneys... what a pain in the back. I guess that's why the Hunger Strikers keep on drinking. Well, I'd have to keep on drinking, vodka! Or something stronger to get me through that.
I'm still coughing but I feel better and I've past the first stage of my new lifestyle change of eating smaller portions. I'm so glad I sent the Tiramisu home with Lourdes Friday. I would have had to live on it the whole weekend and that would have ruined everything.
On to other things.....
Jody is in a spring cleaning mode! HALLELUJAH!!!! Wait for it...
He's BAAAACK! Bubba's come home, once again. I think he just passed his sister's all time record for moving back. Although she really hasn't moved back since she moved out of her apartment in Dallas years ago. She just left all her stuff here and moved on to living out of a backpack. He's back and brought his bed and all his toys. He has managed to sell off all his furniture and appliances on Craig's list, and made a tidy profit in his fine entrepreneurial way. He's such a shrewd businessman, if this water purification thing doesn't work out I think he could sell buffalo chips the size of diamonds on a street corner and be quiet successful.
When he walked in last night
As I had promised Travis and Maggie over at Me Voy, here are some pictures of Jody's carbon fiber mandolin.
I guess he can't really do anything about that little Herringbone pattern of the composite, it's sort of like fabric when they start laying it in the mold so it has a woven look to it. I think I would have painted it or something. That's just me. He did leave the wood front natural as I suggested.
It sounds fantastic! And only the picky
He does good work!
Last but not least. Jolea and the crew of the Freedom Schooner Amistad are scheduled to leave Havana, Cuba today. Well, that's what their Facebook thingy said. Her last comment on Facebook was something like "Viva CUBA! I love it here and I'm not going home!"
Just what every mother wants to hear.... that your daughter is living it up in a communist country smoking cigars and drinking coffee.
I may have to go back to bed.

Hope you start to feel better soon! You can hardly afford to lose any weight!
Cool mandolin. I like the pattern on the back, makes it look industrial-like. And I love the natural front. Very nice Jodi! T's gonna be impressed, if he ever wakes up! Sounds similar to what you got, snotty sleepy and sore.
Judith get well soon! And don't worry about Jolea...I'm sure she's itching to get back to Key West...one can only hope anyways! :)
@Sigga - WRONG! I'm strategically dressed.
@Maggie - he's made quiet a few mandolins but I think this is his favorite. And it's Jody with an i... it happens, just remember this little poem, i ends the girl's name with a dot on top like a bow in her hair, y ends the boy's name, hangs down like a.... oh, let's not go there.
@Hevver - You know Jolea is probably trying to tack back and forth to get there before tomorrow morning. She's already got a party planned.
Of course she does! LOL I heard through the grape vine the industry was picking up...thats good for her! (And maybe me too!) i hope she gets on a better boat.
Are you feeling better yet?
@Hevver - she's already got another job lined up.
Be well. I need a normal, healthy person out there to compare all the sick lunatics to.
Soup baby, soup.
