Update....

Just a quick check in, I was sick last weekend.  I've never in my life stayed in bed longer than maybe the regular 8 hours that someone said it was a good health practice. I'm just not one to lay around in a bed all day.  Some people think it's luxurious, it makes my back hurt.  I'm a morning person, I enjoy getting up and getting out there.

I did make it to work last Friday.  I got there at 6:30 and went downhill really fast.  My allergies were in full swing they had been swinging and missing since Thursday around noon and by 8AM, I was headed back to the house.  Fridays are not Fundays at a school, if anything bad is going to happen, it will happen on a Friday, so I wanted to leave the office with the things I do routinely EVERY Friday taken care of.

I was back home in bed by 8:30 and I didn't really get out of the bed except for the bathroom breaks until Monday morning. I ate very little food, sent it all back to the kitchen, which really started making Jody feel like he was dealing with a picky eater all of a sudden was this payback?  No... my taste buds were in a coma too.  I just wanted to sleep.

By Monday I was much better, but still really weak.  I won't be going on any hunger strikes.  I can get past the stomach growling part of it, once it shrinks down a size or two, it has a very tiny voice that you can barely hear.  It's the kidneys...  what a pain in the back.  I guess that's why the Hunger Strikers keep on drinking.  Well, I'd have to keep on drinking, vodka!  Or something stronger to get me through that.

I'm still coughing but I feel better and I've past the first stage of my new lifestyle change of eating smaller portions.  I'm so glad I sent the Tiramisu home with Lourdes Friday.  I would have had to live on it the whole weekend and that would have ruined everything.

On to other things.....

Jody is in a spring cleaning mode!  HALLELUJAH!!!!  Wait for it...

He's BAAAACK!   Bubba's come home, once again.  I think he just passed his sister's all time record for moving back.  Although she really hasn't moved back since she moved out of her apartment in Dallas years ago.  She just left all her stuff here and moved on to living out of a backpack.  He's back and brought his bed and all his toys.  He has managed to sell off all his furniture and appliances on Craig's list, and made a tidy profit in his fine entrepreneurial way.  He's such a shrewd  businessman, if this water purification thing doesn't work out I think he could sell buffalo chips the size of diamonds on a street corner and be quiet successful.

When he walked in last night over an hour after we had eaten and happily threw his cold Braum's hamburger in the microwave he said, "It's so much better coming home here than going to the other empty place.... it's more homey over here."    Awwwww, he's so sweet.  I told him there was still room in the already packed-to-the-gills garage for the other 4 dirt bikes, he only brought one in Monday night. What do I care, I can't get my car in there anyway, if a hailstorm blows up I'll have to shield it with my now stick-like body hahahahah evil roar.

As I had promised Travis and Maggie over at Me Voy,  here are some pictures of Jody's carbon fiber mandolin.

I guess he can't really do anything about that little Herringbone pattern of the composite, it's sort of like fabric when they start laying it in the mold so it has a woven look to it.  I think I would have painted it or something.  That's just me.  He did leave the wood front natural as I suggested.

It sounds fantastic!  And only the picky assinine would refuse to play it.

He does good work!

Last but not least.  Jolea and the crew of the Freedom Schooner Amistad are scheduled to leave Havana, Cuba today.  Well, that's what their Facebook thingy said.  Her last comment on Facebook was something like  "Viva CUBA!  I love it here and I'm not going home!"

Just what every mother wants to hear.... that your daughter is living it up in a communist country smoking cigars and drinking coffee.

I may have to go back to bed.

Cool mandolin. I like the pattern on the back, makes it look industrial-like. And I love the natural front. Very nice Jodi! T's gonna be impressed, if he ever wakes up! Sounds similar to what you got, snotty sleepy and sore.

@Sigga - WRONG! I'm strategically dressed.

@Maggie - he's made quiet a few mandolins but I think this is his favorite. And it's Jody with an i... it happens, just remember this little poem, i ends the girl's name with a dot on top like a bow in her hair, y ends the boy's name, hangs down like a.... oh, let's not go there.

@Hevver - You know Jolea is probably trying to tack back and forth to get there before tomorrow morning. She's already got a party planned.

Be well. I need a normal, healthy person out there to compare all the sick lunatics to.

Soup baby, soup.
