Did you actually think we'd be going to school today? Not us! We can't function in this stuff. Our carports and awnings can't handle it, they have been falling down all over the Metro-plex. Trucks can't navigate those super high overpasses that I think look so cool. We just don't have snow plows in this part of the country, and this is some snow plow kind of snow!

Oooh! Let's do a time line. This picture was taken around 4PM yesterday.

Then last night around 9PM.

And this morning once the sun came up around 7:30.

Check out our fence...

Come on... don't you want to chill on the deck with me? Got a nice soft seat for you.

The Barbie Doll Barbie shows how much snow we had.... Looks like 12 inches to me!

I went out front for awhile. Hmm? I wonder if the ragtop is leaking?

Let me go take a picture of the front of our house. As a kid, Mom had tons of pictures of our house in Odessa after snow storms. I think she would send them back to her snow deprived family in Louisiana. Look both ways!

And then the other way. Where is everyone? When we were kids we were out earlier than if it was a school day.

Well... it's not the house in Highland Park but I wouldn't want their mortgage.

I hope we don't loose our tree, that's another thing that can't take this snow down here... the Live Oaks, Magnolias and Pines just can't take the weight. Neither can the power lines. Many people are with out electricity today.

It's so cool up under the tree. That's really smart... get under a tree that could split and fall on you at any moment. I'm not really one of those people who go check out the tornado or raging flood waters in person. It's just that I had a really good shot of it from the porch when I was going in. I'm not stupid.

One thing is for sure... it's a great day to have Toads in a Hole for Breakfast.

I think I'll get dressed and go up to school, I need to box up all of Jolea's Haiti shirts today. Then I'll come back and knit the whole day away.

Hei friend how r u ? first time i came here, u hv a nice blog, n nice to meet u ^-^
Snow, what's that like?
Snow...in Texas? WTF? LOL
Wow, that is unbelievable, would you believe that we have had no real snow since just after new year. What is happening in the world??? Don´t say Global warming - that seems just too easy, even if it might be true. Went to Reykjavik last night and back today and there was hardly any snow on the highlands either. We should change the names of our abodes, we could be Texland and you can be Ice-as... hmmmm maybe not.
Nice to meet you too Yoda Tram, glad you stopped by.
LOL @ T&M, it's not like yours, it's different, much different. I started my car this morning before sweeping all the snow off and I think I may know what it feels like to be in your boat with all that snow on it. Claustrophobic!
Hevver, that's exactly what I say every time it snows here.
Sigga, nah... the name change isn't working for me either. That makes me sad that ya'll haven't had any snow in Iceland all year, something is very wrong with that. I think Maggie and Travis got all of your share.
Toads in a hole????? My mother made that. That was (and is) one of my favorite comfort breakfasts. I've never seen anyone else make it. Hub thinks it weird. (I think he is.) You made my day with eggs. Who would have thunk?
This type of 'toads' are from my Girl Scout days, I think... Jolea said she learned the British have another type of 'toads.' She said ours was better, for breakfast at least.
Whoa! That's a lotta snow. The inside looks warm and comfy, though. Mom used to make eggs in the hole for us kids too. I don't remember her calling it anything nearly as fun though! Perhaps she was afraid one of picky eaters wouldn't touch it if she called it that. ;)
Wow! That's quite a bit of snow and interesting to see the increase over time. Is the weather expected to improve this next week? Breakfast looks good!
Debi, you know how it is at GS camp, it's all about eating weird sounding things. Did you guys not get snow out at your place?
A-O, It was in the mid to high 40s today so a lot of it has started melting off fast. What's amazing is the size of some of the snow men and gigantic balls that look like someone just started rolling a ball over and over until it just got too heavy to roll. We broke an all time record for the area with 12 1/2 inches.
Unreal! You Photoshopped that snow!
Amazingly beautiful.
Tee Hee, only a professional photoshopper would have been able to tell that. B, you are SO good!
HOLY CRAP!!!
That's a whole ton of snow for Texas!! That's amazing! And weird...so very weird.
The last of it finally melted today when it got up to 60.
