Most people I'm around everyday know that I have driven a 1998 Mazda Miata for about 7 years. Jody drove this car for about 3 years before I did. I love having a Miata, it's fun. It reminds me of my days racing go-karts. I like the fact that if the weather is beautiful I can reach up and throw the top back while I'm sitting at a red light. That always gets a thumbs up from people driving gigantic SUVs.
But the wear and tear were beginning to show on my little car. It was needing a new paint job, the miles were racking up, the windows wouldn't roll down or if they did I couldn't get them back up. Worst of all the top was starting to fall apart and I was afraid to put it down for fear that it would just disintegrate if I tried to pull it back up. My baby was tired.
Last week, just before Valentines, Jody sent me an email. It was from CarMax... and showed a 2008 Mazda Miata! There was a little message attached to it that said something like "hey, I found this car, if you like it we'll talk about it tonight. Jody" IF I LIKED IT? OMG..... I was sitting in a 1/2 inch of water from the last rain (before the snow) every time I got in my car.
I'm reading the email, sitting across the living room from him, while he's watching me the whole time to see my reaction. He's so
Long story short.... we went over Tuesday night after a 24 hour round and round getting them to make the car 'just right.'
This is our dealer going out to drive my old car away. If you are in our area and shopping for a car, see Debbie Ambrose at the Plano store. She's awesome!(Sorry, I didn't have time to set my camera to a night setting, I think she was ready to get rid of us.)
This is the way I looked to most people.
And this is the way I look now!!!
ZOOM ZOOM!
I feel a road trip coming on!

ooo Pretty Car! Congrats! How about a road trip to Mexico say around...March? :)
Wow! Nice car! It's so cute! Congratulations! And, what a sweet hubby you have! :-)
Hevver, that's not the kind of car you drive into Mexico... I would fall into a hole and never be seen again.
A-O, thanks, he was trying to hold out until V-Day, but I kept coming in and showing him how wet the seat of my pants would be from the water soaking into the bottom of the seats from the floor. He held out and then it still took them a week to get it here.
I love that he was watching you read the e-mail. Aw-w-w-w!!
Really nice car. I'm happy for you. That's what my hub wants. Since the youngest child is 12, I think it will be a while before he gets one. Congrats!
Jody wanted something bigger, but the only thing with usable back seats AND convertible would have been a Jeep Wrangler and he wouldn't go for that. So he'll have to start driving something bigger. Probably a double cab truck.
I did the same thing 2 years ago and it was like being reborn. Cheers and take me for a spin!
B, I pretty much have the same zoom-zoom attitude since getting the new car, since it's the same type I've had for so long. But it's pretty fun seeing the reaction from everyone else. It's just nice not hearing all the rattles, and feeling the drips and the cool damp sensation when you sit in a cracked seat and think to yourself, is that water seeping up through the foam or is the leather just really cold. I do miss the Bose stereo system in the other one. Hope these speakers hold up.
Congratulations - looks like a beauty!! So hot!! just like you I imagine... You have a great hubby... and I am sure that he will update the stereo within a short space of time - he seems like that kind of guy!
Sigga, I can't wait for Summer! Spring Break is in two weeks and I am trying to decide if I want to go to Houston then or wait until May.
