The Kids

I just got off Skype with Jolea, they made it into Bermuda yesterday morning at about 8:30 EST.  She was quiet well.  Said they were preparing for a storm, it was windy as you can tell by the picture.  She said the seas were "quiet large" but it wasn't too bad (I guess she's judging it on her scale.)   They will be in Bermuda for a week before leaving for Dominica.  She managed to go aloft!  It was a huge deal for her, but she did it.  She'll probably post about it later.  I'm so proud of her for not giving up, I knew she could do it.  She just needed a little warm weather.

Jeff be-bopped in yesterday evening to have dinner with us.  He'd been in Corpus all week.  He was here when Mark showed up for the Saturday night Pickin'.

Mark started doing what Mark does.... he teaches, any and everyone how to play something.  My NEW electric bass was sitting there and Jeff was sitting there, so Mark taught Jeff to play the bass.  He did quiet well.  Oh yeah, Jody thought we should have an electric bass.  (Remind me to tell you the story about the first time I drove a Tony Kart)  I came in from work Thursday night and there was a bass in the living room and he wasn't even wearing his "Yes Honey, it's another guitar" shirt.

Then it was my turn, my fingers have a mind of their own and they have a natural tendency to do knitting.  This was very foreign to them.   No we don't have or need any pictures of this.

Later, one of Jolea's dear friends from her Junior High School and 4-H days came over.  What did Mark do?   "Hey... do you think you could just take those brushes there and give us a light little tap on that snare drum.... Come on, any chimp can do it."  That's how Amanda became a drummer.  He didn't even give her time to take off her coat!

Y'all have a good week, tomorrow is the 1st of February!!!  I was promised a new car in February.... I'll be holding him to it.

I like that shirt! I think I need one that says, "Yes, honey, it's more yarn". :-)

That's a great idea.... we have screen printing capabilities here at the house, I'll see what I can do about making us some.

You have such a fun life!

I checked out Jolea's website. That is nothing but cool. Hubby would love to run away on a ship like that. I never realized that it was floating history. What an adventure!

LOL, T & M, we are people with too much stuff is who we are. It's really more like a vinyl sign set up and I can use it with an iron on vinyl for fabric. I can make lettering for boat names too!

Travis if you look closely at the picture of Jeff and Mark, you can see Jody's latest mandolin building project. It's a carbon fiber mandolin with a spruce top. It's the one beside Jeff on the couch.

Glad you stopped by Hevver!
Me, you call this fun? You need to get out more sweetie. This is just passing time because HBO only shows crap on Saturdays. Yeah, Jolea is on the ultimate tour guide job.

I have always wanted to learn to play a musical instrument - obviously the solution is to come visit you in Texas!

Come on Sigga, we'll find something you can make noise with. And the great thing about it is that they never tell you how bad you are. They just keep telling you to try.
