Just a quick post. Wow, that was a busy two weeks! The kids at school have been wired for the holidays since we came back from Thanksgiving Break. I pretty much have everything done at work so I don't have to try to get anything accomplished today other than put out the small fires that pop up. Nothing big, no purchasing, no events to plan (other than Staff Development for Jan. 4th), all the travel is booked, just sit back and wait and help Lourdes with any Student withdrawal today.
Fat Week started a little late this week. We didn't start until Wednesday, which is good. I get so sick of nibbling. By the time Friday rolls around I can't stand the sight of Christmas Goodies. I think it helped that one of the Teachers sent out an email saying "bring a sweet or salty treat on Friday." So I made mini cheesecakes last night.
This is one of Jolea's recipes. I added mini chocolate chips to them. I probably should have made more, but I only had enough cream cheese for one batch. I guess we'll be having a fight over cheesecake in the Teacher's Lounge later.

I don't really have any plans for the Christmas Break, finish knitting on the last sock. Yeah, I'm running really close, but I'll make it. I haven't put up a Christmas Tree yet, I guess I'll do that this weekend. Jody will be on call for Christmas, so we'll hang out here. Jeff is in town so I'm sure I'll cook ( Jody suggested we not have Turkey... I wonder if he hit his head on something in the garage?)

One last thing.... Do you see that leaf? It's stuck in my windshield wiper or something on my windshield. Sorry the picture isn't better, I was driving. This leaf has been riding on my windshield since the first part of November!!! And I've even driven to McKinney and back on the freeway going 70!!! I'm going to wash my car over the break, but I'm going to leave this leaf. I want to see how long it can stay on my car. I'm becoming attached to it. Maybe it will be there when we trade the car in for another one in February.

Yay for holidays!!!!!
Been wondering when you were going to post again. You're off your sunday schedule. Love ya!
Yay for time off for Holidays.
Yeah, Jolea, I just haven't had much to yammer about. Not much going on around here. I've been so bored I've started making friends with leaves.
Ah making friends with leaves.. love it... just thought I would let you know that we got a little bit of snow tonight, not much - but it looks like we may get a white christmas after all. Thank goodness!!! It has just been so dark here without the snow. Have a wonderful Christmas, enjoy the time out with family and friends - I know I will.
OK Sigga, you are in Iceland and there is no snow on the ground? And it's December? That makes me worry about global warming.
My leaf doesn't have a name yet. Maybe I'll call him Oakley.
I think I gained half a pound just looking at those mini chocolate chip cheesecakes. Yikes, I just gained another half a pound just writing "mini chocolate chip cheesecakes." D'oh, and another! Better stop.
Love your leaf. You have such funny adventures. No one but you. You could make a little extra Christmas money starting a pool for predicting the date Oakley will fly away. I'm guessing...um, January 23rd. 1..2..3..go! (123, get it? Or am I showing my terribly nerdy numeric side?)
Debi, that's a good idea! I thought I was going to loose him on the way to work yesterday. I had to use the windshield wipers and he sort of lost his balance. But he's still there. I think it would be great for him to stick around until we trade in the car in a couple of months.
Your elementary side is showing. The wonder of a leaf. Ahhh! Love it.
I think my whole life has been put on hold just trying to get through these past few weeks. So glad it's done. Under the heading of "As if there is not enough change going on in my life", we are getting a new principal in January. Ours is moving on greener pastures. If my world was different, I would put in to go with her. Pray that good things happen on all levels.
I look forward to the Sagas of Oakley! :) Enjoy some well deserved time off.
There was a maple leaf floating next to the boat the other day. Jim looked down and said , "Hey look! A dead Canadian"... you have one too. Wonder if you killed it?
