FOs and UFOs

Here's the latest FO (finished object for those of you non-knitters), Christmas socks. Can't tell you who will receive these, but she picked the yarn out of my stash.

And then there's the UFO... yeah, unfinished object. They look kind of wide, but what do I know? I've never knitted socks for guys. It will probably be OK. These are going to go fast, thank goodness. I knitted all that last night.

This is going to shock some of you... we stayed home last night! Yeah it was Saturday and we stayed home. We stayed home Friday night too! We found out there's not anything on TV Friday and Saturday night and you have to resort to watching Cage Fighting for 4 hours. It's OK... it's really easy to knit during cage fighting. It's almost like sleeping during Nascar racing, but a lot more productive. Go Randy!

We're not going to have a completely void of Bluegrass weekend though. We're heading out to Cumby for another gathering of Freddie's Cooking in the Fronchard. Freddie's cooking up some chicken this time. I can't wait to see if he's frying chicken in that kettle. Judy (Freddie's sister) called me Friday night and asked if I'd bring dessert. Duh! I always bring dessert. I made some mini cheese cakes and Brownie Bites. We had Skyped with Jolea a few nights ago and she gave me the idea for the cheese cakes. I'll post pictures of them with the pictures of the event later.

I'm sure I'll get some knitting done this afternoon on the drive out and back, and then I'll be down to one more pair to go! I don't know if I should show those... don't want to offend anyone.

I'm quickly becoming SSOS..... so sick of socks.

I didn't take any pictures, but a girl that was there is going to send me some.

Freddie cooked chicken on the smoker and the grill. They also had ham, tons of sides and desserts. The mini cheesecakes were a huge hit and were quickly renamed 'those little do-dads.'

Great weather for cooking in the fronchard. We went over to a friend's house Saturday night for some of the very best barbecue ribs. Wish I had some more. :)

Your socks look so cozy. Thanks for expanding my vocabulary with FO and UFO. I will see if I can amaze some of my more creative friends.

Where the hell have I been?

Never far away, I assure you. I've been blog viewing instead of participating. I'm still here, hanging around the fringes of life. You still make me hungry every time I visit.

Wow!! thats really clever I also love the idea of the mini cheese cakes. years ago we owned a flat (an apartment) which staff lived in (my company that is, actually owned it) whan the wall paper was stripped off for a re-dec,we found underneath that there were millions of messages, from a previous owner I gues? and one of the writings (in felt tip) said "My mother made me a lesbian, (and the reply in a diferent "hand" said) if I give you the wool would she make me one please?" :o)) great soxs by he way you are very clever.

I wondered if you'd show up Brian. It's probably best I didn't take pictures of the do-dads. They really liked them.

Rob that's funny... I knit everywhere I go. It probably drives Jody nuts but he doesn't say anything about it. He did draw the line at doing it at the table while we are eating.
There were several people there Sunday that would walk past me and ask "are you done yet?"

Good idea Maggie! Or you can use WIP... work in progress.
