How did you get here?

That's something I wonder about when I look through all the blogs I keep up with, and after thinking about last year at this time when Maria set up my blog. How did I find these other blogs, or did they find me and leave a comment that I traced back to their blog? Or did I follow them from a comment they left on some other blog? Does that make me a stalker? Or just a Pen Pal from back in the day?

I know Jolea's blog was the first blog I ever kept up with, and after many weeks of her asking "Mom, did you read that blog I told you about? The one with the lady who lives on a sailboat in Mexico? You'd like it." I checked that blog, but by the time I got there the lady had moved to Japan and was only wishing she was back on the boat. But I still keep up with her as she travels the world, winding her way back to Mexico. And of course I keep up with Jolea's..... I have to, she doesn't call.

I have added several more blogs to my list from both Jolea and Maria, like minds I guess. But then there are those that I'm not sure how I ran across. Or by someone I do read suggesting I check out their blog because that other person just so happens to live in the town I grew up in... Debi. Maybe I got bored one day and just started clicking that little 'next blog' app up there. I found some pretty interesting blogs this way.

So what I'm getting at here is, how did you get here? I know there are those people (mostly relatives) who I've told about the blog to keep up with Jody and his cancer battle. But you other people... how did you get here? Do you remember? If so, I'd love to know. Does that make me an even more twisted stalker? Maybe I secretly want to be a Private Investigator or I enjoy looking at family trees, or I need to go back to work because my brain is shutting down.

We'll go with the latter... since that happens tomorrow. I sure hope I can remember all my passwords at work.

BTW... Jody and I celebrated (if that's what you want to call it) our 28th wedding anniversary Friday. We thought about going down to Walgreens and reading cards to each other, but Jody decided against that when he remembered they didn't have any chairs to sit in and the blood pressure monitor would be too far away and I'd have to yell across the store to him.

So we went to Jalapenos and had the most disgusting Mexican Food I've ever eaten. People who like this place have never had good Mexican Food. It's got to be bad when I say that because everyone knows, I'll love anything that has a good amount of chili powder and grease in it. Then we went to the grocery store to get the ingredients for the Chocolaty Treats we would be taking to Garland. That was considered an outing... Jody doesn't go to grocery stores unless it's an emergency. I'd already told him I had all the ingredients but he insisted and we added a Chocolate Pie to the basket. Good pie!

To make up for Jalapenos on Friday we went to Dos Banderas in Garland on Saturday night. Now that's more like it. I had Avocado Enchiladas with Cilantro Cream Sauce!!!! OMG. I could be a vegetarian.

That's how we roll around here, kind of laid back and unexciting. We like it that way.

Speaking of unexciting.... how about sitting on your deck typing and listening to the dove in the trees and the air conditioners hum when all of a sudden the pounding of hoof beats rapidly approaching startles the s#!t out of you. Someday I'm going to install an spring loaded self-latching gate.

This is Izzy, she's about 45 pounds of 6 month old puppy power. She bursts in from time to time for drinks. She lives two doors over and doesn't get out much. She's severely deprived of walks and enjoys making a break for it. She's in training to be a professional Scare Dog. She's getting quiet good at it. Made me have goose bumps this morning.

So let me know how you got here.... I'm making a family tree and all I have to work with are a bunch of dead leaves.

Have a great week. It's back to the 8-4 for me... I think I'll break out my bike.

He he he. I can't believe Jolea called me a 'Lady' cos buoy was I swearing buckets each day, especially around that mooring buoy. LOL.
Yeah, it's wonderful how this blogging lark has brought a bunch of cool people together. We have a very nice blog crew goin' on, that's for shore.
You feel like you know the person even though you have never met. Like when we finally get to meet, I am sure it will seem like we've met before and are merely catching up and/or going over past stories.

Tee Hee.... I don't consider a swear word in the line of business disqualification for being a lady. You should have heard me when that dog 'attacked' this morning. Her attack is very heavy on the slobbery side.

Gee, I had to think about it. I "think" I came across you through Rox. I do remember that wherever I snooped on you from that I though your title sounded fun. I related to your stories about Jody and just kind of kept up with you guys. It was nice to hear of someone winning for a change. Then of course there is that "school thing" in common.

Anyway, I've enjoyed the blog+friendship. I just started blogging in April a year ago.

Good luck in starting back to school. I have another week and have been wondering about all the passwords as well.

I just came across your blog from your comment on Simpler Living.

Before I replied to your comment about Food, etc. I wanted to get a better idea about who wrote it.

All the best. Good luck with returning to work.

Thanks MeOL, I know I've seen Rox on some other blog, but can't remember where... Maybe Lyvvie's. You are one of those It's a Small World finds. Hope you back to school is a breeze.

Hey Daniel B, I have a cousin named Daniel B. Don't you just love that blog Simpler Living? Thanks for stopping by.

Daniel B after checking out your blog I'm embarrassed! I only wish I knew a portion of what you know about wine and cheese. There's probably more about real food, but all you have to talk about to entertain me is wine and cheese. I'll be dropping in for lessons.

Hi J :-)

I think I found you via Maria's blog, or maybe you found me via Maria's blog. Not sure. Anyhow, Maria is the link, I'm pretty sure of that.

Congratulations on your 28th wedding anniversary. In this day and age that's something to be proud of. The most I've managed to date is 6 1/2 years [hangs head in shame]. I'm not worthy! ;-)

How did I get here? I think you stalked us first, now we stalk you too :)

Shut up! My anniversary was last Thursday! 22 years.

We have so much in common. I was thinking about breaking out my bike too recently. And we're both stalkers! Wow, this is eerie.

judith said...

OE I found you over at Maria's hanging out and Maggie and Trav over on Jolea's. GIL... we could probably be really good next door neighbors. You know the kind where you have a gate connecting your yards.

judith said...

Oh, and happy Anniv to you too GIL.

"Seattle" Heather said...

Okay so this is how I found you! Via Jolea...but how did I find Jolea that's the question!? LOL I found her through Dockwalk.com and asked her how long she'd been a yacht stew and then found out she was coming to Seattle! Then she wasn't in Seattle! And we stayed in touch! Then I found Maria. Now we're just like one big happy hen house! :)

OceanCruiserWannabe said...

Huh? One big happy hen house? So that must mean I'm the cock. Kewl ;-)

...This way ladies. You know you want to ;-) Hee hee (I wish!)

You stalked me. I know it, I know it, I know it. So did that Jolea chick...
Uh, probably not, maybe I stalked you two first...
I thought you two were sisters.
I did however, stalk Maria first - found her thru my profile - clicked on sailing or Mexico or some common ground then started laughing and so wanted to meet her. Then found normal people...
Happy anniversary - did you get married when you were 12 ??

judith said...

Seattle H, I wondered how you found Jolea, I figured you came from her link.

OE... you Brits are quiet funny. I imagine all of you are like Benny Hill.

Thanks Heather, and no I didn't get married at 12, I just refused to grow up for a really long time. I think I followed you and Jimbo around first, from over at Jolea's too.

I think I found your blog because you'd commented on mine first. I'm pretty sure that's it. And you continue to comment on mine and I'm terrible about commenting on yours. It's one of my August resolutions - to comment more on the blogs I read. :)

Debbie said...

I am not sure how I found your blog, but it probably had something to do with knitting socks. :) No matter how I found your blog, I really enjoy reading it.

judith said...

OMG Jayne... I am so glad you dropped in. You are one of those people who ends up having 50+ comments on their blog. After taking care of kids and cooking up a storm who has time to read much less comment. I'm glad you came here. Yours was another blog that Jolea said "Mom you're gonna love this one." I could use Juila-isms over on my other blog. I'll never forget the "hey lady, nice lipstick!" post. That was priceless.

Debi said...

Rats! I was so proud of myself because I knew how you and I found each other. But you remembered, too. I do suppose it is pretty memorable to link up with a blog that's almost all about childhood town. Thanks GIL for that connect.

Happy Anniversary.

I had a dog once, Max, who behaved something like Izzy. He'd jump the fence and be gone about an hour. Then, like it was the most normal thing in the world, come home and bark at the gate for me to let him back in. (Why don't dogs jump back IN the yard?) I always wondered what sorts of things he did while he was away.

judith said...

Debbie, I just discovered you on a knitting blog a few weeks ago. Welcome to my world.

Debi-- one of these days we'll meet in person, somewhere around Sweetwater. Half way. That dog is hilarious. She's like a cartoon.

Heyja, well I guess I found you / connected with you via Maria whom I have been following for 5 years now - I found her on my niece Maja´s blog...
My brother in law reads my blog and has since started reading yours and he asked me how on earth I got started reading a blog from a woman in Texas... he is totally fascinated.
Keep it up.
