It's a Twister Auntie Em.....

We had a little "Greenage" going on last night. (300,000 points for the person who can tell me what movie that term came from) This is looking Northwest from our front porch. Just after I snapped this shot the wind gusted so hard that the huge dumpsters left on the street from trash pick up all took off for counties to the east. I had just mentioned to Jody that the Tornado Season was really calm this year. The jury is still out on just how many Tornadoes we had last night.

It's still rumbling out there almost 9 hours later. I have no idea if Jeffrey made it in from working out of town yesterday. He'd come in Tuesday, mid-day, and told Jody they were headed to Ellis Power and Light. I don't know if it's Ellis as in Ellis county or L S Power and Light. I just know Ellis county was hammered last night and they are still getting hammered this morning.

I've been working long hours this week, 7:30 to 5:30 so that I won't have to work on Friday!!!! Last night I threw dinner together in 30 mins. or less (take that Rachel Ray.) We ate dinner and I did the dishes while Jody battened down everything outside that could blow across town just as the Tornado Sirens began sounding. We really don't have anything that will blow. Look at our deck furniture.... Jody built that out of 2X4s just for that reason. We always put the dumpster in the corral after the trash is picked up. We may have some downed branches to take care of today, but nothing major. Although a couple of times it did sound like metal was blowing over our roof during the most violent part of the storm. I'm sure Jody will check the roof out today.

We lost power a couple of times, but not for any huge length of time. We lost the cable, so Jody couldn't watch the radar anymore and we didn't even try the computers. Hmmm, I think I may need to invest in a good battery powered radio. We used to have one around here somewhere, it's probably out in the garage. I was too tired to knit, so I just went to bed around 8:00.

Needless to say, when I go to bed early, I wake up early. I've been awake since about 3:15! I may need a nap around 10 this morning. I'm hoping today will be less stressful at work than yesterday was.

Yesterday was the last day for everyone in the office, EXCEPT... Cristie and I. Maria left at noon, Judi came in around 11 and worked her final afternoon. This was her last day with AISD. She's going to work for her husband's company as the Office Manager. We'll miss her so much. She walked in two years ago when I took on the Administrative Secretary role and stepped up to the job of being the office Lucy. She is the life of the party where ever she goes. She's promised to come have lunch with us and we'll hold her to it. I don't know who she'll be clowning around for at her new job, but I know she'll keep them smiling. We'll miss her. (And yes, she did recover from this bout of Swine Flu.)

I had tried to text message Jolea last night, but didn't hear back from her or get a return text. Last I'd heard they were supposed to be headed North today. I hope she got the package I sent. She doesn't post regularly to her blog and I know that's got some followers tapping their foot wondering what in the world is so time consuming that she can't throw a picture and a few words out there. I guess I'll have to start updating everyone from the tiny bit of information I get, squeezed from Facebook. Maybe she's on a really ratty boat... nah!

Looks like I'll be wearing my Crocs to work today.... the Thunderstorms are still building here~

You have some wild weather down there. Michael was just in Dallas (work) and noticing the levees and the vast areas set aside for flooding and he was like "they must get some wicked floods". Scary!
He brought me back a pen that says "Don't Mess with Texas". Too funny.

CRAZY night! Wondered about you. We were without power most of the night and some this morning. Glad to see the sun peeking through. :)

Bless you my child... Maybe we can chat after you get your new phone.

Duder, he must have been south of downtown. They do get some bad flooding down there. I'm about 45 minutes north.

Yes, Heather we live with the threat of blowing away every Spring.

NM - would you believe we are still having storms south of us!

I thought about you to ME... Ya'll really got it bad over there. It looks like we could still be in for more tonight.
