Oh yeah... I was about to get to Jody and his health. He's been home this week. Trying to rest, I really don't think that happens much. He tinkers non stop. Now he's got some kind of engraving machine to make signs and labels for machines or even badges like I wear to school with my name and title on it. It's really cool and as usual makes a really big dusty mess. What is it about this man and dust? Everything he does results in some kind of dust. We've got to come up with a bi-product for dust. This new dust is plastic and a bit larger than the cornstarch like dust from the mandolins. The good news is the engraving machine is equipped with it's own vacuum system!! It carves and sucks at the same time! And after playing with it for 24 hours on the kitchen counter he moved it into the garage to keep him company. I think I'll have him make a sign for the door to the garage that says "Jody's room."
If any of you boaty people out there need plastic stick on signs that are engraved in what ever font you like and say whatever you like, let us know and we'll get them right out there to you. My first question for him was "can you do that on wood?" So he's going to get some thin veneer and try it. It will be something to keep him occupied. I'm sure he'll get some demos up on his website soon. He's still playing with it at this point.
I'll be able to monitor his rest habits this week while I'm off. I'm going to pick up some herbal teas from Dr. Julie, our acupuncturist tomorrow. I think this will jump start his healing. His throat doesn't look quiet as swelled as it did a week ago. It's amazing what not being in a negative work environment can do for your health.
UPDATE: as of last night Jeff and Chance may not be taking the van down by the river to the beach. Someone backed out and they may just take Chance's truck. We like this idea, it means we won't get a call "Dad.... can you drive down here in Chance's truck to tow us back?"
Have a good week! I will, I'm already making my 'to do list.' No laying around on the couch all week for me.

Boys make dust.
It's what they do.
There is no stopping them.
Glad he has some fun things to keep him busy and creative!
Hope he's feeling ok...
Hugs!
Well he's a professional at making dust. He made dust and grass particles today when he mowed the lawn. That wore him out.
Thanks.
