We were under a Tornado Watch when I left the school at 4 yesterday afternoon. Jeff came over to have dinner and do laundry. So we just grabbed a burger and settled in.
I finished these socks, just after dinner. They are my first low top pair and I think this may be the way I make socks from now on. Seems like the tops take the most time.

These are for you Duder, you were not here to model them so I'm having to. I hope you like them. They are pretty cozy.

Don't they look good with these purple crocs?

And what about with these Birkis? Flashy socks like these are meant to be seen. I wouldn't wear them with a skirt or shorts but peeping out from the hem of some jeans would be OK... but then again, I'm not the sock fashion police and people can wear them how they want.
While I was finishing the socks Jody and Jeff were each on a lap top searching for laptops. Jody has decided I need my very own. (Listen.... Jolea is squeeling with delight.) Don't ask me what they ended up with, Jody went for just enough gadgets, I don't need much and I'm not here to impress anyone with my gigs, for some reason he wanted the laptop to have a really nice screen.... not too big like the one I'm using now and NOT a Dell. Jeffreyberg was here to make the smokin' deal, and he did. I'll have a new laptop on Friday. No Jolea it's not a Mac. My knitting programs won't run on a Mac. : (
Jody is having to take this gigantor Dell to work with him. It has the programs for his control panels loaded on it and I guess he doesn't want to take it to work with all my knitting projects loaded into it too. He knows not to ask me to use the old Dell/POS. He'd come home and find it out in the middle of the street where I'd Frisbee'd it out the front door. It's the same one with the connected keys on the left of the keyboard. Problem is, all my knitting programs are loaded on it.
I'm excited.... Happy Valentines Day to me! I wonder what he's thinking of buying for himself??? (Really he probably never even thought about Valentines.... believe me, it's the farthest thing from his mind.) Now to get a camera.
All the while the lovely Texas weather is building to the west. Jeff got his clean laundry loaded into his truck and took off for his apartment just before the Tornado Sirens began. Jody started loading up the good laptop, my purse our keys (that cracks me up, house and car destroyed by tornado, but I'd have my keys) cell phones. I was already ready for bed so I had to get dressed again and put some blankets and pillows in the bathtub.
I called Jeff, he was heading directly into the storm. He was almost to his apartment and promised he'd stay downstairs in his garage under the stairway until the worst was over. His apartment is above his garage and he doesn't have cable TV or internet yet (or we'd probably not see him but once a week) so he can't keep an eye on the weather. I guess Jody hasn't really thought about this or he'd not sleep at night.
This morning, it looks as if most of the worst weather was to the north of us into Oklahoma. Lone Grove was hit very hard. We have family in the next towns over in Ardmore and Gene Autry. I'll make some phone calls this afternoon to make sure they are all OK.
Ya'll stay safe and keep an eye on the weather.

Woo-hoo! Those socks absolutely rock!!
I hope everyone is okay after last night: scary weather.
Those socks are super cute! Purple is my favorite color!
Wow that's some crazy weather you have down there...that would frighten me I think. Take care...and be safe!
Love the socks. Socks can make a person feel real good about their day, I'm of the humble opinion. I love socks.
Last night when the storm was about to hit, I was running around grabbing my purse and throwing on clothes getting ready to take cover. I grabbed those socks and put them in the pocket of my jacket. By golly our house could get blown to Missouri but if I survived those socks would make it to the mail box! Priorities!!!!
Tornados and socks... Seems so far away from my little life here in the lagoon. Ohhhh gotta get out of this lagoon soon!
Glad all is ok - keep those keys handy! ;)
I'm glad you're not the sock fashion police! That made me laugh, which I believe was one of you goals, nice!, although the bit about the weather was scary! We can be so powerless against the elemants!

Double post, double lucky T & M! That's because you are moving onto a boat...
The weather here isn't really all that scary, as long as you keep an eye on it. Kind of like you boaty peeps are supposed to do.
BTW... Lone Grove was hit with an F4 tornado. I haven't called my cousins, figured the lines would be down of blocked. I'll call this weekend.
That was a little scarey last night. Did you see the pictures of Colleyville? I was on the computer and had the television on when I heard a really strange, loud noise. It lasted maybe 10 seconds, but it made me stop and listen trying to decide what it was and if I needed to do something. My son heard it, too and he was upstairs. A few minutes later the news was talking about Colleyville being hit. I think we may have gotten really lucky.
The socks are marvelous, Dahling. I'm glad you kept them safe. :)
Where are you Me? I thought you were in the Panhandle.
oh yeah and that stupid groundhog really doesn't know anything! Its been beautiful here ever since he predicted more winter ;)
We live in NE Fort Worth. Surprise! I thought you knew.
I don't know why I thought you were in the Panhandle, that's OK you know what I'm talking about most of the time, the weather, the school, yadda yadda.
