Yammering on....

Looking back at Saturday's blog... yammering, that's all it was.

We didn't get up at the crack of dawn yesterday and hit the road. After dealing with the hordes of people in the grocery store Saturday afternoon, I was spent. You would have thought the end of the world was coming not Thanksgiving. We stood in the line at the deli counter for about 25 minutes... there was a couple, just 3 people up from us, who were having lunch! They tasted every log/brick (you know what I mean)of meat and cheese in the case! And then they ended up with two tiny bags of cold cuts! It didn't help that the clerk was the slowest and grumpiest man on earth. I would probably be grumpy working behind that counter too... I'd be sick from smelling food all day. I truly admire people who work with food all day, like my sister-in-law. I would never eat again. I wasn't even shopping for the end of the world so I will probably have to go back to the store before Thanksgiving day.

I am posting today to show you one of the delights that 'Grandma' brought to the school last week. It's my breakfast of champions today. Cranberry Pistachio Bars.

'Grandma' said it needed some sweetness, because it was a little tart, so she provided whipped cream in a can. I think it's perfect... and with my coffee, who needs added sweetness. (My coffee is so sweet, that small children will not drink it for fear that they will burst into flames. 1 part coffee to 216 parts sugar and cream.)

She also brought a Lemon Pound Cake, a Chocolate Egg Nog Cake, some Blueberry Buckle, and Brownies. Seems like I'm leaving something out.... all this will sit in my office when she makes her delivery, until it's time for the feed to begin. I roll it all down to the Teacher's Lounge on a cart, as Judi is sending the email that lets the faculty know there are treats to be had.... then I have to make my way back to the office, like a lost Salmon swimming the wrong direction during the spawn. It's dangerous! Teachers will eat anything! They will mow you down to get to the food too. I can't repeat what Jody says about teachers and food in this blog, but if you ask me in person I'll tell you.

I was going to post the recipe, but due to computer problemas (stupid keys) I'm unable to access my school email where I have the recipe stored. I'll post it later.

I just figured out what the key problem is... thisa laptop wantas to be bilingual! It'sa trying to aspeask ASpsaniash! It's throwing a's and s'es and q's in... that's how Jody speaks Spanish... just put an a on the end of every word and you have Spanish!

Turns out we are going on a little road trip!!!! Jody and I!!!! He is wanting to go to Ardmore,Okla. tomorrow to pick up a guitar for a friend. And since I know Ardmore like the back of my hand, he needs a tour guide!!! Of course we'll be cramming Jolea in the back extended cab part of the truck... she's lost weight due to stress, she'll fit. Jolea wouldn't let us leave town without her, she's the queen of the roadtrip.

Jody has an appointment with the Radiologist today, I wonder if he'll get his tattoos... I hope they give him as skull and crossbones! He claims to be the Pirate Master after all.

Busy day ahead, better rouse the troops. Recipe to come!

His tattoo will probably just be 4 little dots... maybe you can step up and ask for the skull and crossbones, but I doubt it.
Have fun on the road trip!!!
