He was feeling really yucky last night. It was a very quiet evening. Lights out and everything off by 8:30. I think we're in for a rough weekend. They gave him the longest treatment of any yesterday. He's really stressing and worrying and we all know he's a professional at worrying. He'll have his nails chewed down to the nail beds, what little hair he has will be rubbed off (I've got it buzzed off so short now, he can't grab it to pull it out), and the cigarette butts will be piling up out front where he 'flumps' them. That's always a welcoming sight... Today is the 8th.... ewweee 12 days of worry.
Jolea went out last night with a friend and stayed at her house to keep from having to come in late and chance waking Jody. Problem is he lays there worrying about the kids being out. I go to sleep with the words of my Mother-in-law ringing in my head.... 'no news is good news.' This from a woman who spent many a night worrying about kids and probably still does. I know my kids by now and they can pretty much take care of themselves... they are world travelers after all. But at the same time, not much good happens after midnight. And heaven forbid the phone ring in the middle of the night, cuz I'll come flying out of that bed answering the phone... "Rountree Elementary, how can I help you?" Oh yeah, it's funny and cheap entertainment for drunk people, Jeff used to entertain his buddies with it... "hey, let me show you something my mom does...."
Jolea went to see the Red Elvis' and I think Jeff and one of his friends were going to meet them there. She loves the Red Elvis' .... Elvis' or is it Elvises? Whatever, they are a Russian rock band she first saw while in Key West, then I think she ran across them again in St. T or Melbourne, or somewhere in her adventures. They remember her every time she ends up at one of their shows... which tells me either she's one of those people who ends up on the stage, bouncer in tow or is really loud at concerts, with her... probably both. I think they remember her because she and a friend started a Conga Line in Key West and the band with Jolea and Judy leading, went Conga-ing down the streets of Key West.... I can't wait to hear how last night went. I'm sure she'll have the whole story on her blog later in the day. I am going to have to go see this band someday...
My fire was nice earlier when I came out at 5:30 (when I get woke up I'm up....), but it's
It's going to be another nice weekend, great top down on the Miata weather. I'm about to wear that poor little top out. I just read another blog about a sailing couple who's main sail ripped out as they were sailing... I instantly thought about my sail (top) ripping out as I'm flying down Central Expressway at 70mph in the dead of winter. That would not be good. It's coming un-stitched in several places. I wonder if they have repair places for that sort of thing or if I should just start shopping for a new one?
I'll let you know something more about Jody as soon as I know something different.... have a great weekend and a good week.

Our fingers are crossed in La Paz for him.
It's actually cooling off here - I can pull a sheet up over me at night now. Love it!
Enjoy the weekend and hope Jody gets some enjoyment as well.
Well, I have become addicted to your blog site! I can't wait for Saturdays to hear what is going on at the Cruzan Coop~ We will keep Jody in our thoughts and pray really, really extra hard this week. Prayer works, so you can tell him to stop worrying :)
We hope your weekend goes well - by the way: I just finished my Xmas shopping - can I get a "woo hoo"? I am so excited -
Sara
Thanks Heather and Sara!
I remember those days buying electronic toys and tons of clothes... the kids would rather have cash now days. And in some cases we offer to knock off some of the debts. What's surprising is that they still expect to get a stocking full of candy and little incidentals. The goofy stuff.
i would like contacts for christmas thanks...
Praying.
I'm Agnostic but I want there to be a God to hear these words and make a difference.
The world is so strange and wondrous now. Technology linking people who don't know, may never know, each other. Feelings for one another through an invisible "web." Links from human to human that eventually reach God. I'm glad that I live in this time period. There truly is no better time to be alive.
Loy I'll talk to Dad... Godinla... you are one of a kind. Thx.
Count me as another soldier in the prayer force. I hope this difficult time passes quickly and everyone can worry most about sails and enjoy practical jokes.
Thanks for dropping by my place. I'd be happy to take that photo for you! Just wrote the address down and put it in my purse. I'll let you know when I go by there. What about Jody -- did he grow up here? Would he like a picture of the homestead?
P.S. I love how you use your chiminea both in warm and cool weather. Clever one, you are.

Thanks Debi, Jody did grow up there but only his high school years and couldn't wait to get out of there. I know where the house is but not the name of the street.
You are the sweetest!
Yo
There's somebody who links to my blog via your blog who is from the small town of Burpengary where my school does it's annual homestay for the junior high kids.
Small world, huh.
Hope all's well out on the deck.
M
Huh? I don't know anyone in a town of Burpengary although that sounds like a town Jolea could live in since she can burp like a truck driver.
